College Internships:

Construction Management Intern - EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park

This intern position involves working closely with the LEJ project management staff on the construction of the EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park, San Francisco's first 100% off-grid building. The intern will have access to one of the most exciting green building projects in the Bay Area, a landmark environmental justice facility in Bayview Hunters Point.

This is an ADMINISTRATIVE internship, NOT a hands-on construction job, although you may find yourself in a hardhat zone from time to time. This is an unpaid internship for course credit.

Responsibilities:
* Organize project archives and current work files
* Support project manager with contractual, construction, and funding deliverables
* Solicit in-kind donations from green building vendors and manufacturers
* Maintain relationships with community stakeholders
* Depending on construction schedule, support special events and media outreach

Qualifications:
* Understanding of and commitment to green building and sustainable urban development.
* Superstar organizational skills; able to handle multiple projects efficiently.
* Ability to maintain focus in a noisy, youth-oriented environment.
* Self-starting and motivated; willingness to pitch in before being asked.

General Internship Inquiries:

We welcome inquiries from undergraduate and graduate college students who thrive on the volume and intensity of working with youth and are interested in pursuing a term-length internship with us. You should be able to commit to a minimum of 8-10 hours per week for the duration of your academic term.
1. Please review our Program pages and see what area of our work most closely aligns with your academic program and interests.
2. Send an email to the Staff person responsible for that program. Let us know why you are interested in working with LEJ, describe your background in that program area (food security, environmental education, etc.), and the dates you will be available to intern. Include a resume.
3. We also sponsor interns who are interested in non-profit management, including the areas of financial administration and development/ communications. To inquire about those opportunities, please email our Operations Manager with your information.
