Please join us for the 2019 Bioblitz at Jackrabbit at Candlestick Point State Recreation Area on Saturday, October 19.
Bioblitzing is a way to involve all community residents in one of the fundamentals of science – making observations and recording what you see. Bioblitzes help land managers build a species list and atlas for their park and provide invaluable data for researchers. They also highlight the incredible biodiversity in these Bay Area oases.

All ages are welcome. We’ll split into groups to explore the park and investigate its biodiversity. Using the iNaturalist app, become a citizen scientist, and learn more about nature in the city. Curiosity is mandatory, but a science background is not! And we’ll have a free community BBQ afterward!
Special thanks to our community partners, California Academy of Sciences, California State Parks, and the Bayview Public Library.
